Residue → industrial fuel

Develop a measurable carbon project around a real fuel switch.

CarbonPod partners with biomass-pellet businesses and their end users to assess eligibility, build the project, measure the real fuel switch, coordinate independent review, support credit issuance, and prepare for buyers. Residue in: crop residue and agricultural by-products, aggregated and densified. Outcome: fossil fuel displaced in industrial boilers.

01 / The first project check

What we need to understand first.

This first check does not approve a carbon project. It tells both teams whether the opportunity is defined well enough for a deeper assessment.

  • 01A known end user and the fuel being replaced
  • 02A current carbon-project pathway that fits
  • 03Measurable energy use and fuel replacement
  • 04A responsible and traceable residue source
  • 05A clear commercial reason for the switch
02 / Fit check

Signals of a good fit

  • A committed industrial fuel user
  • A measurable fossil-fuel baseline
  • Traceable residue feedstock
  • Reliable pellet delivery and consumption data

Usually not ready yet

  • No identified end user
  • The displaced fuel is unknown
  • Feedstock sustainability cannot be shown
  • Actual energy use cannot be measured

Methodology status, activity scale, end-user technology, baseline fuel, additionality, feedstock sustainability, leakage, and monitoring all affect eligibility. CarbonPod screens the complete activity before suggesting a carbon-credit pathway. Source: Gold Standard fuel-switch methodology. Last reviewed 5 August 2026.

03 / Our role

We lead the carbon work. You keep running the operation.

Check the real fuel switch

Identify who uses the pellets, which fuel they replace, the equipment involved, past energy use, and why the change is happening.

Make the change measurable

Review raw-material origin, transport, fuel quality, actual consumption, and any emissions that move elsewhere.

Build the right project

Use only a current applicable pathway, define contracts and data rights, and prepare evidence around real energy use.

No automatic credits. A product or facility is not itself a carbon credit. Independent reviewers and the chosen registry must approve the project and its results before credits can be issued.
